The tremendous development witnessed in previous decades in the field of Computer Science has had a great impact on our daily lives in various ways. The Department of Computer Science, established in 1997, has been able to keep up the pace with these developments and to consolidate concepts and theories related to computer information fields. The Department of Computer Science was the first at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at Jerash University. The department grants a bachelor's degree in Computer Science after successfully fulfilling the study plan. This program covers many of the cognitive fields that students need to be fully qualified for the labor market.
Through the Computer Science program, the department provides students with a scientific base in various fields of computer science that contribute to providing scientific and technological solutions serving multiple areas in the local community. In the process of developing the study plan, many theoretical and practical aspects have been considered. The department adopts ACM / IEEE global standards throughout the process of updating the study plan. The department also seeks to obtain local academic accreditation of the computer science program through the accreditation body of higher education institutions and to ensure its quality, as well as obtaining the international academic ABET accreditation.
The CS department aims to educate and train future computer specialists in the theoretical and practical applications of this specialization.
The CS department is committed to providing students of different levels with the opportunity to obtain a high quality education. This commitment is fulfilled through pursuing outstanding teaching and learning in the field of computer science.
