The Department of English Language and Literature was established in 1993/1994. Twenty two batches of students have graduated since then. The Department includes a group of qualified faculty members in language, literature, criticism, translation and teaching methods. The department seeks to graduate outstanding students with comprehensive knowledge competence, linguistic abilities in the English language, and experience in literary and linguistic fields. The department also has a master's program in English language and literature, which qualifies graduates who are able to work efficiently within their fields of specialization.
The Department of Translation aspires to graduate qualified and creative students who are able and competent in translation.
The Department makes all efforts to realize its students' potential, as well as the quality of its academic outputs, with the aim to develop scientific research and implement it in all aspects of social and cultural life.
- To supply students with a varying and comprehensive knowledge system that enables them to respond positively to socio-economic, and educational developments. - To qualify researchers with an adequate methodological outlook. - To improve the scientific and professional performance of faculty members. - To examine and revise curricula periodically with an eye on the most recent developments.
